What an insightful blog post! I’m so happy to have found your blog and invaluable experiences :)

The loss of internet for two weeks must have been so stressful! I know that my husband and I, whose livelihood comes from the internet, would have been stressed beyond belief. Good call on the back-up systems!

Reed - Glad you liked the blog and yes, I’ve learned to dig the man-kiss too.

Thanks for the sushi recommendation. I definitely have to check it out. We did find a few good options ourselves: Osaka (very good but expensive) and the restaurant in the Japanese Gardens (they have really good food, sushi and actually have fresh tuna too). We also just found a dive Peruvian place that a taxi driver recommended that has a great ceviche.

And yeah, that Slingbox is a great idea, but is really frustrating trying to watch a football game and not being able to tell where the ball is.

Nice list! I've been here since mid-August and if I were to come up with one, it would greatly coincide. I couldn't agree more on the Slingbox issue. We've had the same problems.

Though, I've learned to dig the man-kiss, and have found good sushi. I highly recommend Azul Profundo in Retiro. It's all-you-can-eat and the best sushi I've eaten here. Pricey, sure, but worth the trip.

A friend pointed your site out to me. Really great work here. I've got one going, too, and it seems like we've covered many of the same topics. Check it out here if you're interested.
