We had planned to write about our experiences with the new U$S 134 tourist tax that Argentina will be charging to enter the country effective 1/1/09, but fortunately for us, that plan has now been put on hold until at least March. That means we’ll save $268 this time! Since this issue affects so many tourists and expats, we’ll be sure to stay on top of it.

YES! I had been frantically researching the entrance fee to see if I should make a run to Uruguay before the new year to postpone the tax but this is very welcome news. That’s why I check your guys’ blog I guess.

Well, we´ve been paying and being publicly humiliated to be able to get into the US for years… so I guess it was about time we returned the courtesy.
At least you won´t have to tell a room full of people how much your earn and try to proof to an embassy employee you have ties (financial and emotional) to your own home country.
