Unfortunately, I have a plan now so cannot check it. You may need to go and buy pre-paid Movistar cards at a kiosco and then enter the PIN number of those cards.

It seems they changed his process…at least, I am not able to follow as above and it disconnects from too many attempts. The problem for me is right after I enter the expiration date.

Can someone check it out and post any changes?

I just got a sim card from movistar., and got the SMS that my card was ready to use. However, I still can’t receive any incoming calls….do I need to have credit on the card to receive calls? I heard that the incoming calls were free. I also got a card with a pin and a puk number that came with the sim card, but have no idea what to do with it. However, since I got the SMS, isn’t my card already activated? Is there anything else I need to do to receive phone calls?

*444 is free, even if you are out of minutes. You could always go to a kiosco and buy credit too. They sell cards that have a code and pin to add credit.

I think im flat out of minutes, as my phone isn't even letting me dial *444, is there a number i can call and do this on that isn't through my movistar phone?

Do you know if I bring my US cell phone to Argentina would I be able to use it with one of the carriers there? Does it have to have a sim card or can it just have GSM technology?
